Al and Nancy Fasoldt
   
Technology writer and photographer Al Fasoldt is a photographer and retired technology writer. He founded Technofile Online in Syracuse, New York, in the early '90s after a dozen years running the Technofile BBS. He and his wife, Nancy, a retired newspaper editor, host workshops in computers and photography.

LET ME PASS. Our dogs Jake and Joshua became famous as the World's Largest Poodles on our travels around the country. They weren't, as it turned out -- we met an absolutely breathtaking poodle in Dallas that was a few inches taller -- but as Royal Standards, they represented their breed well. At the dog park in this photo, Jake, at left, is waiting for his brother to get out of the way so he can continue his routine of jumping up on the table, pausing, then jumping off. (That's one of the skills you have to master in Agility Training.) Jake did very well, but Joshua, perhaps spoiled by his ever-permissive dad, had to be coaxed, wheedled and cajoled into all the exercises but one -- the chute, which he found exhilarating, possibly because it was like chasing squirrels into an expanding tunnel. Jake is still the same, but Joshua left us a few years ago for the place where all canine companions go for their final rest.
