Sign up now for Al Fasoldt's first photo workshop in November

A special message from Al Fasoldt:

I'm conducting a Basic Digital Photography Workshop in November. It's the first of three photo workshops sponsored by the Creative Arts Ministry of Liverpool Community Church. The Basic Workshop will be followed by an Intermediate Workshop in January and an Advanced Workshop in the spring.

Basic Photography Workshop, Nov. 7, 14 and 21

WHEN: The Basic Workshop consists of three sessions of 2½ hours each on three Tuesdays in November — Nov. 7, Nov. 14 and Nov. 21. Workshop sessions start at 7 p.m. and end promptly at 9:30 p.m.

WHERE: All workshops are held in Room 301 of Liverpool Community Church's ministry center in Liverpool, New York. Driving directions will be mailed to all registered participants. The church's ministry center is a former public school, with spacious classrooms and meeting facilities. The ministry center's community activities are open to all the public.

REQUIREMENTS: You do not need a digital camera or computer, but you're encouraged to bring your camera if you have one. If you don't have a camera, workshop organizers will have cameras on hand that participants can share. All other materials will be provided.

COST: $45 for the entire workshop. Download the signup form, fill it out and send it back with your payment, in check or money order. You must pay in advance to be registered.

Is this workshop for you?

The Basic Workshop is for anyone who doesn't have a digital camera or doesn't yet know how to use it. The Basic sessions also will help shoppers decide which digital camera to choose for a holiday gift. In addition to learning photo-taking techniques, workshop participants will find out how to get their pictures from a camera to a computer, how to print their pictures on a photo-quality printer and how to share pictures with others electronically.

You probably should choose the Intermediate Workshop instead if you already are knowledgeable about photography but want to know more about photo-taking techniques and photo editing on computers. Participants in that workshop will need a digital camera and a computer. The Advanced Workshop will teach photo editing, photo retouching and high-quality photo printing. Participants will need a modern Windows PC or Apple Macintosh computer and good photo-editing software.

Dates for the Intermediate and Advanced workshops will be determined after the first workshop has begun. The Intermediate Workshop will cost $60, and the Advanced Workshop will cost $75.
